Whether your teen is feeling anxious, lonely, depressed or angry, therapy can really help. Tweens and teens deal with the same if not similar issues to adults but the feelings are very big and the coping mechanisms can go from curious to alarming. My training at a teen crisis center has been especially formative in how I approach working with my younger clients. It all begins with listening. From there we unpack challenges that run the gamut from grief, to sexual pressures, to family ruptures, to identity issues... I am an LGBTQI affirming, body positive therapist and I believe with the care and acceptance, my clients can reach their goals that might just include empowerment and self-love.
